8:43 PM
The days have blurred by recently. I'm in so much pain, but somehow I keep going. We rode 90 miles today climbing 2,000 feet into beautiful trees, but ya know at that point I didn't care. The hope that the downhill would come soon was the only thing on my mind. But the hill just kept going and going. My knee is ready to fall off. I ended up walking nearly 4 miles straight up. I met a 55 year old woman who was also walkling her bike. The only difference is that she was carrying all her gear on her bike and damn it... She's 55 years old. She had ridden out here from Florida and now is headed back. She's already ridden over 5,000 miles. Insanity?? YES!!! Props??? yes.....

We stayed in the Avenue of the Giants yesterday. REDWOODS the circumfrance of a large RV. Amazing. We've been getting such a late start it's driving me crazy. My patience is already so bad, but to add the fact that I'm waiting for everyone else is dizzying. The last of our group didn't make it into camp until past 8 PM. Complete darkness and the complexity of wondering whether or not they were ok makes things hard on me. I worry and stress about everything.

A few of the riders grabbed organic veggies from a hippie farmer. We ate it tonight. Grilled it on the fire pit along with potatoes, ramen, and rice. We're almost out of food, but hopefully we can make it last a few more days. I just need to get to a COSTCO so I can get some bulk food. We have three more days til' we hit San Francisco. It's weird to watch the mileage towards SF go down as we travel through the day. The big highway signs counting off the miles. I'm craving junk food so badly. I want to eat burgers and fries. I have been living off Oatmeal, Peanut Butter/Jelly, ramen, rice, and power bars for the last 11 days. It's tiring and I really need a San Francisco Mission Street Burrito!!!!!!!!!

Let's see.. Any interesting stories?? It's all interesting really. Watching the human body take a beating and seeing a group of individuals gather together in support of what we all view as something great. It's pretty neat to say the least. But we are only half way there. But the short break in San Francisco will be taken with such joy that I'm sure it will rejuvinate me for the rest of the trip.

Basically Monica and Steve Choi have dropped out. They are riding in the van. Both their knees are shot and they are only there for moral support. Monica filming as much as she can and Choi cooked for us tonight. Pretty nice. Matt Embree is playing guitar and singing whilst I type. He has a friggin good voice. Much better than me, but I can probably kick his ass. Just kidding. Well, I will talk to you all later. Hey, if any of you end up coming to any of these campground shows, please do us a favor and bring us food. Anything and everything will be eaten. Trust me.
