We're at Cape Blanco Lighthouse State Park. Today was the hardest ride of the trip, but also the first day that all 14 riders made it from start to finish. I'm positive we'll have some who'll drop out tomorrow. Jenny Choi has been charging every morning. First to leave, her and Monica started riding at 7 AM. Ten minutes later I left hoping to catch up with them. Unfortunately, i got lost. I went to a store and asked this guy which way to 101. He said "cross the bridge and take a left on LIBBY". But this guy was a stereotypical redneck. And after 4 miles of climbing hills, I got scared and headed back into town. I went into a hardware store and talked to the workers there. they seemed much more with it and even drew me a map of where to go. I started my climb and still wasn't 100% sure I was going the right way. I was scared to be honest, but after 2 hours, I saw Gerry drive by in the van and he assured me I was going the right way. Soon after, i saw Jenny and Monica. Wheeeew...

Monica's knee has been hurting lots, so I ended up having to tow her on some of the climbs. SHe would grab on to my right shoulder and just hang on as I plowed forward. I'm sitting next to a camp fire closing my eyes as the smoke is blinding me. There's only a few people here. Everyone headed to the beach. I was there for a bit, but it was cold and was wearing flip flops. We made the best dinner of the tour. Burritos:Rice, Beans, Cheese, Tortilla, and salsa. Who would believe that this simple combination would taste to friggin good. I think everyone is pretty pleased after such a hearty meal. I'm finding myhself straying away from certain people as personalities are conflicting, but I think everyone is a good person and that's all that matters in the long run. We're only one week into this trip. It seems longer. Not to make it sound like I'm not having fun, I am.. It's just that it seems like we've been going for awhile. One more week and we'll be in San Francisco. FUN FUN.
Be well.
Peace always,
Mike Park
