I am sitting on the floor of a girls room. Monica is taking a shower and I am somewhat in a daze. A friend of mine named Jotham let us crash at his home and his roomate whom I've never met let us stay in her room. That's pretty darn nice of her.

Last night was a strange experience. We were picked up at the airport by this gentleman named Michael. He drove a huge cadillac and boomed out Eminem, but then would rock Against Me. Strange combination, but whatever. He lived on the outskirts of the vegas strip. His room was a converted garage that sported lots of posters of past concerts and digital cable to boot. He made veggie chili, which was quite good and we enjoyed watching cable for the first time in quite some time.(We don't have cable at home)

He had mentioned that Vegas received 5 times the normal amount of rain this year which made for the worst allergy season in history. People who never had allergies were losing their minds. So here I sit, with my eyes blood red and a nose full of snot. I had hoped the desert would clear up any allergies I did have, but it's only made things worse. Oh well...

As the night got later, people started trickling in and I thought to myself "these people have no idea who I am". They looked like nice folks and all, but it was different. I'm not sure how to explain, but I knew it was gonna suck. But that's the wrong attitude to have. So I tried to shake off any negativity brewing inside and got ready to play. And actually people seemed into it at first.

This wasn't going to be so bad. But the more I played, the more I realized this was truly a party atmosphere. While I tried to talk between songs, I could hear the drunken banter as one fellow just kept yelling "TITTIES" whilst grabbing his girlfriend in front of everyone. I thought "DAMN". What am i doing?? Why am i doing this?? Argghhhh....

It was fine though. It's good to have these experiences. I met some really sweet people and ate some good food. I've got two house shows today. Wonder how they'll be?? Hmmmm...
Peace,
Mike
