ATTN:UK folks!! I'm coming to do a short DIY tour in the UK starting November 12th. I was just checking to see if there are people out there who would be willing to help spread the word about shows (Passing out flyers, posting stuff on the websites in England, etc.) Also, I have a few days off on Nov. 10th and 11th (MY BIRTHDAY) Any ideas of things to do? Would love to hang out with the locals. I'll be in the London area, so get in touch. mikeasianman@aol.com

Last night I took my niece Haley to see Good Charlotte and Sum 41. It was at a place called the SAN JOSE EVENT CENTER. We rode bikes and it took a total of 5 minutes to get there.

Haley is only 11 years old, but worships GOOD CHARLOTTE. We enter the arena and join the other 4,000 people who consisted of mostly girls whose ages ranged from 8-16. Plus a bunch of parents that filled the rafters as they endured some horrible music. Is that fair for me to say? Horrible music....No, it really isn't, but I bet the parents were like DOH!! This sucks.

There were four bands total, so lots of music was being tossed out there. I was there with Monica and she watched with Haley whilst I went up to concessions to buy some food.

On my walk, I wanted to see all the merchandise they had for sale, so I went over to the merch. area where I was greeted with a "Hey Mike". It was this guy I had met once before. I can't remember his name or the band he was working for, but he was real nice and we talked for bit. I did the ol' "Hey dude" That's my response when I don't remember someone's name. And then I usually put my hand on their shoulder as a measure of my sincerity to let them know I friggin' know them.

I told him about my niece and he said that Mark Halloway was the Good Charlotte road manager. I knew Mark... He road managed Alkaline Trio for awhile. So I called him and the next thing ya know. I've got back stage passes.

He meets us upstairs and escorts us back to the dressing room area where a spread of free food and drinks are waving and saying hello to me. All other thoughts have left my mind as I just want to get a piece of cake.

Mark goes to get the twins in GC, so that Haley can get their autograph. She was wearing a MADE sweatshirt and a good charlotte shirt and she was shaking like crazy. Luckily Monica had my camera in her purse, so we took a bunch of pictures with her and the band. And I know that I am a jerk because I've talked so much shit about this band, but to their credit they were super nice to her and totally gave her a time she'll never forget. They're still a horrible band, but I give them an A for being nice.

As for that piece of cake. I ended up eating three pieces Carrot cake, Cheesecake, and Chocolate cake. And a glass of soy milk and i took a whole thing of orange juice. Not a little bottle, but one step up. What would that be?? A liter?? Hmmm... But yeah, I just friggin' took it and drank it during the show. It was fresh squeezed also, which made things super special for me.

Haley knew the words to every single song and I just kind of leaned back in my chair to soak in the experience. The show got out at 11 PM and though we were invited to an after party, I just wanted to go back home and read comic books.

So that was my evening. Not as bad as I had expected it to be. Maybe I'll post the pics on my site. Hmmmm...Tonight, I have no plans, perhaps a movie and some pizza. Or perhaps Karaoke? We'll see I guess. Be well brothers and sisters.

Peace always,
