I stayed in the east bay last night after seeing Mr. Matt Skiba play solo in San Francisco. I just couldn't make the drive back to the south bay. Toooooooo tired....

Matt played really bad last night. He knew it and would make fun of himself on stage. That relaxed the crowd and I think just made things more fun for everyone. He played a short set. About 10 songs and that was it. Around 30 minutes of music and he was done. He forgot the words to his songs many times, but the crowd knew the songs and they would sing along and help him out.

Earlier in the day I had taken a nap. With limited sleep the night before this would be a mandatory event for me if I wanted to make it through tonights show without falling asleep. I thought the temperature would cool down as the sun was setting, but I woke up just covered in perspiration. My shirt was completely soaked through. Pretty disgusting, but at least I got an hour of sleep before my late night.

The city was much cooler than the south bay and it felt good to be there after 4 days of high 90's weather. I met Monica at the 24th and Mission BART station and we went for a walk. For the next 2 hours we traversed around the city looking for the perfect snack. We settled on this pizzeria across the street from JAYS CHEESE STEAKS on I believe 17th and Valencia.

We got to sit outside and munch on these huge portioned slices, but it could have been ketchup on toast I was so hungry and it would have still tasted brilliant. Basically after the fact I wondered how good the pizza really was, but at the time it was pretty delicious. We walked into a WALGREENS drug store that is open 24/7 and strolled the aisles just looking at stuff. We were killing time as we didn't want to see the opening bands.

After the show, we went for some more food. This time it was Taqueria EL FAROLITO on Mission. The green sauce was thick and spicy. My belly was full and satisfied, but I knew I was in trouble if I tried to drive home, so I took the short drive over the bay bridge and nestled at a friends house in Berkeley. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.........
Peace, mike park

PS-I've been trying to come up with a contest for the punkvoter tour that I'm doing with Anti-Flag and this is what I've come up with. For each show I'm going to give away 2 tickets to one person. All I ask in return is that you buy my record. It's pretty selfish on my part, but this way I'll be able to save you money on tickets(you'll save around $25) and I'll get to share my music. Already have my record? Well, give it to somebody as a gift. Sound fair? I hope so. Here's a list of all the dates for the tour:
