I'm short on time and I'm feeling a bit under the weather today, so I'm gonna try to type faster than usual. Last night found me in many different perdicaments, with many different people, in an almost movie like atmosphere. I don't know where to start. I was the odd man out at this party I went too as I knew nobody, but fortunately I have good people skills and can start up a conversation with anybody. And that's exactly what I did. Talking to everybody and going on my friend Mara's lead to try and meet at least 5 new people every day. But my problem is I have terrible memory and even when I meet people I can rarely remember their faces and certainly can't remember their names. I'm the type of person who can listen to a song 100 times and I still have no idea what the lyrics are. That's real talent. Okay, I leave the party with a posse of 4 women and myself. Lucky me! We hop in a car and go to a bar called the Ruby Room. I've never been there, but it's supposed to be a neat place. By the way, I'm in Oakland. Ummm... Shooootzz. . I got to go. I'll continue later.

I'm back almost 24 hours later.. Let's see if I can make this story make sense.. Ok.. ummm... So I'm at this place called the Ruby Room and I think the goal is for this woman named Heidi(who is part of the posse) to find cute boys to flirt with. I guess she didn't like what she saw, so we were out of there pretty quickly.

In conversation I found out she went out with Jesse Michaels.. Yes, the Jesse Michaels, so lucky me.. I have his phone number and to embarass her I call him. No answer, but I leave a message. So we're driving along going to a bar called the Radio. Remember, I never frequent the east bay, so everything is quite foreign to me. My phone rings...It's Jesse! She pleads with me not to say anything, so I don't. But he tells me to go to the ME LO DEE, which is in El Cerrito. It's Molly from Lookout Records going away party.(She's moving to New York)

So we head that direction as everyone agrees that would be fun. Luckily, one of the girls knows where it is and as we pull up I see the Donnas exiting.. Ahhh..this must be the place. We pile out and check out the retro decor of this classic bar. Karoake is in effect and I hear a great rendition of Surrender by Cheap Trick by a middle aged man. I greet Molly and a few others that I know and find time to get on the dance floor. We exit after awhile and head back in the automobile.

Next stop, the Mallard. This place is packed with a mixture of people. Kind of a melting pot of sorts. At this time, I'm burnt out and am wondering how the heck I got brought along girls night out. But I'm a team player and go along with things. I don't start a conversation with anybody this time and just hope they don't see anything they like and can take me to my car. Well, after awhile we leave and I'm taken back to my van. Ahhhhh.... Relief in some way, but at the same time I had fun being one of the girls. Shooooootzzz.. If you made it this far. Congrats. THis was some boring writing.

Peace, mike park
