October 22, 2010

Happy October 22nd.
It's Friday and well.. I guess that's a good thing. I like Friday, but I also like Monday and Tuesday. In fact I enjoy every single day of the week equally.

It's getting chilly here on the west coast. Perhaps we'll have another heat wave before the fall/winter hits permanently. And I know I'm a wimp when it comes to the cold. That's why my dream is to move to Hawaii and be in shorts 24/7, 365 days a year. Wouldn't that be something?

Currently the bay area has turned Green/Black not because of Halloween, but because of GIANTS baseball fever. And though I'm an A's fan through and through, I'm still rooting for the Giants. I like when people jump on the band wagon and scream allegiance to a team just for the sake of joining in on the hysteria. And it's great for the economy.

Actually, I've thought this for a long time. In every sporting even that has a best of 7 scenario, I always root for the games to go the full 7 mostly because it helps the economy. Is it weird that I think this and that I want the country to succeed?

But I think it's a valid point and one that I'm positive helps everyone involved. I bet that just one single playoff game in San Francisco generates more than $20 million income for the city. Probably more. And that goes for the suburbs and every sports bar across the nation. i'm sure they're busier when there's a game 7 on the television vs. a Thursday night college football game with Rutgers vs Brown.

Anyways, I need to get back to work. Be well.
Enjoy your weekend friends.
And by the way, the only reason I wrote today was because I had a conversation with Brendan Kelly who is a blogging master. He's managed to keep up with daily blogs even though he is MR. MOM to a 2.5 year old and 5 month old. SO KUDOS to you Brendan.
peace, mike park
